One of the nicest surprises in late Winter and early Spring is how alive and green the desert can be.  This scene was captured after rains had passed over the Santa Rosa Mountains.  It is a land not harsh and dry, but crisp and fresh and strikingly green. It is a time for the best hiking experiences before the desert heat once again grips the land and reclaims the moisture so precious for life.
